What kind of work do you transcribe?

We offer all types of transcription. Some of our work is general dictation for law firms, insurance adjusters, researchers and other professionals. This would include such things as research projects, letters to clients, law firms, Court Registries, Crown Counsel Offices, Probation Offices, RCMP detachments, insurance companies; doctors and hospitals; pleadings; agreements and contracts.

What types of files/media do you accept?

We accept all types of files/media for transcription including but not limited to the following:

  • standard cassettes, microcassettes, minicassettes, MP3's, MP4's, CD's, DVD's, faxes, handwritten notes and more. We will attempt to convert any and all of your files to digital.

Do you type my letters onto my firms? letterhead?

Yes. Send your letterhead template and we will use it whenever you require us to do so. The word count in the letterhead will be added to the total word count.

How is the work formatted?

You provide us with your specifications and we will create a template for the format and font size/style that you prefer. If you have no specific preferences, then our standard is 1" margins, Times New Roman 12, double spacing for pleadings, single spacing for all other documents.

My firm uses different templates/precedents than most, can you transcribe for us using ours?

Yes. Simply supply us with the templates or precedents that your firm uses.

Can you print out my documents?

Yes. If you wish your documents to be printed on specific paper, please provide that to us. Otherwise, documents will be laser printed on standard printer/computer paper. See "Pricing" tab for additional charges.

Can I fax handwritten documents to be converted to digital text?

Yes. See our fax number under our contact information.

Will you do local pick-up and drop-off?

Yes, for an additional fee, local pick up and drop off of your documents/materials can be arranged in person at your location if a courier is not acceptable.

My transcription/formatting needs are very specific. Can I meet with a member of your staff in person to provide instructions?

Yes - for local clients only, an in-person meeting can be arranged at your office during regular business hours. An hourly rate, including travel time, will be added to the account.

Where is your team located?

All of our professionals are local, long-term B.C. residents. This enables us to meet the needs of our diverse clients and build excellent business relationships.

Should I send you my originals?

Yes, for a higher level of accuracy and clarity. We strongly advise you to make copies of all of your files just in case they get lost or damaged in shipping. We will then courier all originals back to you.

How long does the process take?

Including proofreading, for one hour of good quality, clear audio, it usually takes between 4 and 5 hours to transcribe. To transcribe poor quality audio, it usually takes between 5 and 6 hours. These times can vary greatly depending on the content and format of the material to be transcribed.

How do I start?

Contact us (by phone or email), send us your files for review, leave a $50.00 deposit, we do the work!

Note: Please do NOT pay deposit until after we have reviewed your file.

Digital files: Email digital files along with your clear instructions.

Larger files: Call 604-856-HELP (4357). Then Courier or Fax hard copy or larger files such as micro-cassettes, CD/DVD?s Books etc. to be transcribed. We can arrange local pick-up for a fee.

Once we have reviewed your files/documents and the work to be done, we will confirm your instructions prior to commencing the transcription.
